Sandra Lim graduated with a PhD in Art and Design from the University of Brighton in the UK, with a focus on Documentary film art and aesthetics. She also holds an MA in Film Studies from University College Dublin, with a focus on politics and aesthetics in postclassical cinema, as well as an Honours BA in Fine Art (Studio) from the University of Toronto, and a B.Ed from Nipissing University.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Sandra taught English in such countries as China and Japan, and taught high school art in Northern Ontario, while developing her creative practice. For the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson, she currently teaches a Liberal Studies elective in Politics and Film through the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, and is currently working on an animated documentary and experimental urban documentary short. She is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers association.
