Is It for You?

Interested in working in the creative sector? Learn how the creative process functions in diverse organizations and how technology is reshaping what they do and how they do it. Develop an artistic eye and entrepreneurial skills to transform ideas into cultural products and services ranging from television shows, video games and films to music recordings, fashion lines and ebooks. Do all of this through Ryerson’s creative industries program – the first of its kind in North America.

*Actual minimum grade ranges required for Fall 2019 admission/wait list consideration will be determined based on grades and qualifications presented by the applicant pool as they become available. Required grade ranges may fluctuate from year to year (up or down) as a result of competition. Applicants not educated in Ontario may present the equivalent of the Ontario requirements. Ryerson reserves the right to determine equivalency at its sole discretion.

Distinctive Learning

Innovative core curriculum; practical projects; international opportunities; work placements; a specially designed series of business courses, and the freedom to select courses from all of the Faculty of Communication and Design’s prestigious professional schools.

After Graduation

Apply artistic knowledge and business skills to programming, exhibition, producing, promotion, distribution, marketing, project development, communication or management in areas such as: broadcasting; film or television; publishing; music, theatre and online entertainment; design and curation; fashion and advertising. Pursue law, business or education, or a professional master’s degree in areas such as media production, communication, fashion or journalism.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.

Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher pre-requisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  • A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/Anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
