Psychological Science Curriculum

To be awarded the Psychology MA (Psychological Science) degree, students must complete the following requirements.

The Master of Psychology is offered on a full-time basis only, and is a 2-year program. Required courses are typically offered every year; elective courses offered vary from year to year.

PS8101 / Statistics and Research Design I / Normally completed during the Fall term of MA Year 1

PS8102 / Statistics and Research Design II / Normally completed during the Winter term MA Year 1

PS8201 / Applied and Translational Research Methods Normally completed during the Fall term of MA Year 1 or 2

PS8202 / Practicum in Psychological Science I / To be completed by August 31 of MA Year 2

PS8203 / Psychological Science Seminar I / To be completed by August 31 of MA Year 2

MA Thesis / Milestone to be completed by August 31 of MA Year 2

Electives / 2 Psychology electives / A minimum of one elective should be completed during MA Year 1, and both electives should be completed by May 1 of MA Year 2

To be awarded the Psychology PhD (Psychological Science) degree, students must complete the following requirements.

The Psychology PhD is offered on a full-time basis only. Required courses are typically offered every year; elective courses offered vary from year to year.

PS9201 / Professional Issues in Psychological Science / normally completed during PhD Year 1 or 2

PS9202 / Practicum in Psychological Science II / normally completed during the Fall and Winter terms of PhD Year 2

PS9204 / Psychological Science Seminar II / normally completed during PhD Year 1 or 2

Comprehensive Requirement / Milestone completed by end of PhD Year 1

Dissertation / Milestone

Electives / Two Psychology Electives /  normally completed during PhD Year 1 and 2. If a History of Psychology credit was not completed at the MA or senior undergraduate level, PS9101 History of Psychology (or an equivalent graduate psychology course) must be one of the graduate electives taken

Continuous enrolment throughout the residency period is required.
