On-Line Catalog to Order General Office Supplies (Staples Advantage)
Effective March 3, 2014, Financial Services, Purchasing and Payment Services launched a new preferred supplier agreement with Staples Advantage for on-line catalog ordering for general office supplies. This was completed as part of the collaborative efforts aligning with Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM) who was appointed by the Ontario Government to assist all School Boards, Colleges and Universities with standard category request for proposals.
Excluded from this agreement are copy paper, office seating and furniture. As we continue to streamline our processes in Financial Services, this new procedure is structured to:
a) reduce paperwork as no purchase requisition is required;
b) provide deeply discounted pricing to help you meet your budget goals;
c) address sustainability issues e.g. reduce carbon footprint with fewer truck deliveries, less corrugate to dispose, and a returnable ink cartridge program.
The best feature is the on-line viewing of catalog items and ordering capability through the Staples Advantage portal called eWay.
Ryerson staff and faculty with the responsibility of ordering office supplies for their department will be asked for a user name and password upon connecting to eWay. Please send Steve Watson an email to obtain your eWay user name and password. Note: this is not your Ryerson user name and password. The departmental general ledger account code (cost centre) and department name will be required when you first sign on to set up your information in eWay. This information appears on every order for delivery and billing purposes. The preferred method of payment for office supplies is the Ryerson purchasing card (Pcard). This information will be required upon signing into eWay the first time and will saved in the system for when you place your next order.
