Danny has been teaching English to a variety of levels and diverse backgrounds since 2002. Originally from England, he graduated from the University of South Wales with a B.A. in psychology and sociology. Buoyed by a love of travel and time spent studying in Italy and working as a volunteer in Lithuania, he obtained a TEFL certificate in London with the intention of teaching English abroad. His journey took him to Toronto where he completed a TESL Canada and a TESL Ontario certificate and started teaching students in numerous private language schools, Centennial College, George Brown College, the University of Toronto and now Ryerson University. He holds an M.Ed. in Adult Education and Community Development from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
His interests include football (soccer) and mindfulness and has had a paper published in the Anthology titled Transversing and Translocating Spiritualities. His focus is on creating an atmosphere in the class in which learners have fun, feel comfortable to communicate, and he sees learning as a cyclical process between the teacher and students.
