Naglaa Salem

Naglaa has over 20 years of teaching experience in Canada and abroad. She has taught at the University of Toronto, George Brown College, the American University in Cairo, and Cairo University. She holds a PhD in English Literature from Cairo University and a Masters in Teaching from the University of Toronto. She has post-graduate teaching certificates from Cambridge University and the University of Toronto. She has taught Introduction to Literature, Linguistics and Intercultural Communication courses at the university and college level as well as English for Academic Preparation. Her teaching specialities are academic reading and writing and critical analysis and research skills. Naglaa has given several presentations at the TESL Ontario Annual Conference and has published on English-Arabic translation, feminist literary theory, literary gerontology, second language acquisition in Arab learners, and teacher development. She has conducted professional development workshops abroad and here in Canada. Naglaa is always exploring creative and dynamic ways to teach language and culture.
