English Boost

English Boost

The Real Institute is back on campus and online for the Fall 2021 term.

Start your degree at Ryerson with confidence

Your English skills are good, but you need a boost to meet university language requirements. This eight-week intensive program will help you improve your English proficiency in order to start your undergraduate degree program in the fall (some exceptions apply, see exclusions below).

The English Boost course will teach you key elements of the English language to help you succeed at university and life in Canada. There’s a strong focus on reading and writing, but you’ll also learn new skills for listening and speaking by studying examples from popular culture. Upon completion, you’ll be able to understand more complicated language and interpret meaning in most situations.

As a Ryerson student you'll be part of a diverse community and have access to various supports tailored to your needs. Most importantly, you’ll be ready to start your degree at Ryerson with the confidence that your language skills are where they need to be.

Our thematic, state-of-the-art curriculum emphasizes reading and writing, while also helping you build your listening and speaking skills.
