Larissa Allen Employee Experience Staff Award Recipients
The Larissa Allen Employee Experience Staff Award is in recognition of Larissa Allen, former assistant vice-president, human resources. This award recognizes one individual who has improved employee wellbeing at Ryerson by engaging and supporting employees in ways that had a significant positive impact on the experience of staff and/or faculty.
The recipient receives a certificate and a one-time monetary award of $2,000 (subject to applicable deductions).

Shurla Charles-Forbes, Manager Learning and Development, embraced the challenge of building a Career Development Program for Ryerson employees and catapulted it into Organizational Employee Effectiveness unit's most successful and popular initiative. With over 300 employees participating in different streams of the pilot, the program has had a significant impact on employees' professional development, retention and engagement. Shurla collaborated extensively with internal and external experts to build a program unique to Ryerson. With the goals of retention, inclusion and increasing opportunities for employees, Shurla has demonstrated exceptional service by going above and beyond to support and strengthen RU employee experience.
Centre for Excellence in Learning & Teaching
Nada Savicevic is an Educational Developer/Instructional Designer with the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching. Nada was instrumental in creating exceptional opportunities for Ryerson faculty to become leaders in e-learning, such as the Blended Learning Lab and Community of Practice. She has developed tools to increase Universal Design for Learning implementation and has worked tirelessly with faculty to develop successful open educational resources. As a coach and mentor, Nada always goes above and beyond the call of duty to positively impact faculty, staff, and students, and keeps values of equity, diversity, and inclusion at the forefront of e-learning.
