President's Award for Teaching Excellence Recipients

The President’s Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes an outstanding Ryerson educator who has demonstrated continuing teaching excellence and who has made contributions to advancing teaching and learning at Ryerson.

The award recipient will receive a certificate of recognition and a one-time monetary award payment of $3,000 (subject to applicable deductions).

Amy (Chen) Peng

Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts

Dr. Peng consistently makes outstanding contributions to the advancement of teaching and learning.   In the classroom, she implements the newest pedagogical techniques to promote effective learning and increase student engagement.  Her hands-on approach to teaching economics gives her students a direct connection between the classroom and the profession. Outside the classroom, Dr. Peng is a strong advocate for curriculum development.  She is constantly finding innovative ways of helping first year students transition into university and of ensuring that graduating students are ready for a rapidly changing labor market. She is a true inspiration to her students and her colleagues.
