Errol Aspevig Award for Outstanding Academic Leadership: 2012 recipient

Ken Jones
Office of the Dean, Ted Rogers School of Management

Ken Jones

For more than 40 years, Dr. Ken Jones has served Ryerson University and its students. As Dean of Canada’s largest business school, he has illustrated remarkable leadership and contributed to the most dramatic growth in the program’s 60-year history. Under his tutelage, student and alumni engagement are abound, more academic programs have been added including the Ryerson MBA, research and scholarly activity have nearly doubled, the prestigious academic accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) was awarded, and the Canadian business community is rallying behind the Ted Rogers School of Management.

Ken has shown great innovation in improving the management school, but he has also been passionate about keeping the values of Ryerson intact. The face of Ryerson has changed radically since Ken began teaching here in 1970. While it still offers a product that is badly needed in our community and our country, it is even better than before. This is due in part to Dr. Ken Jones.
