Gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM) consistently comprise half of new yearly HIV infections in Canada. To respond to the HIV epidemic, Dr. Hart's work creates HIV prevention and sexual health promotion interventions for Canadian MSM in order to reduce HIV transmission in Canada and beyond. Dr. Hart has published over 105 articles and book chapters with a focus on HIV risks and prevention. Dr. Hart is a highly productive and well-funded researcher whose work has had significant impact both scientifically and in the community.


Mehrab Mehrvar
Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science

Dr. Mehrab Mehrvar has been a constant proponent of research in areas of water/wastewater and climate change effects on water quality/quantity. His SRC activities have had significant contributions to the environmental health (social) and engineering (economics) through his publications (101 journal papers/book chapters and 200 conference proceedings and presentations). He has supervised 10 Ph.D. and 31 M.A.Sc. students. Recently, he, in collaboration with Chemistry/Biology, Western University and Colombian universities, was awarded $515,000 from QES Advanced Scholars to bring 17 scholars from Colombia and to send three scholars from Canada to Colombia, working on the climate change effects on water quality/quantity.
