Mattamy Athletic Centre and In-Person Programs to close October 9, 2020

October 09, 2020

In response to developments in the regional COVID-19 situation, our Athletics & Recreation facilities will be closing as of 9:45pm today, October 9, 2020.  As per government directive, this closure is currently planned to last until Saturday, November 7, 2020.

More information on staff/faculty memberships, upcoming first aid courses and other details will be shared next week.

Since reopening on August 10, there has been no recorded transmission of any infections within our facilities or operations. The safety of our students, members and staff remains our top priority, and we will continue to work with our partners in Public Health and the Ontario government to ensure we are in compliance with all safety directives and guidelines.

The Mattamy Athletic Centre and all in-person programs and services will be closed or cancelled for the duration of the closure. Out of an abundance of caution and in the spirit of these regional restrictions, we will also be pausing all Neighbourhood Movement Meetups, even as some fall outside the restricted regions.

While we have had to temporarily close our facilities, we know that moving our bodies and feeling a connection to our community is critical to wellbeing and academic success, and so welcome you to join us in the many online offerings in our MOVE Everywhere programming.

We will continue to share updates on programs and facilities via our website and @RURecreation social channels.

We will get through this together.
