Content 7 Support

Once your my.ryerson username is added to Content 7 you will be able to sign in using your Ryerson username and password. To request access to Content 7 please contact your departmental representative.

Launch Safari and navigate to my.ryerson.ca and log in, select the Apps tab, then click on Content 7.

If you encounter a problem:

  1. Verify Browser Version - Click on Safari in your browser menu located at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear.  Choose the option About Safari. A dialog box will appear containing the browser's version number. The supported browser version is Safari 7 and above. The latest version that your OS supports is recommended.

  2. Verify Java Version - Mac OS X 10.7.3 and above: Under System Preferences, click on the Java icon to access the Java Control Panel which will list your Java version. If you do not see a Java icon under System Preferences, Java 7 or later versions is not installed. The latest version for your system is recommended. The minimum is version 8 Update 151.
  3. Verify that the Java Plugin is working
    • Click on http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
    • After running a message will be displayed indicating if your Java is up-to-date

    • Verify Java and Find Out-of-Date Versions will appear
    • Click on Agree and Continue
    • Click Programs and Features
    • A message will appear informing you if you have the recommended Java installed. If not, download and install the recommended Java version
  1. Open the Safari browser
  2. Go to Preferences > Security

  3. In the Internet plug-ins section, click Manage Website Settings
  4. In the left pane, click Java to open the settings for Java plug-ins.
  5. In the main pane select On or Allow for content.admin.ryerson.ca
  6. Try to connect to Content 7
  1. Select the Preferences option from the Safari menu

  2. Choose Websites tab and select the Java setting on the left pane
    • Note: If you do not have 'content.admin.ryerson.ca' as an allowed website (see screenshot below), please add it now
    • Ensure the checklist is set to On. Whilst clicking this option, hold down the Option key and uncheck Run in Safe Mode
    • Close Preferences window

  3. Try to connect to Content 7

  2. Under the Security tab, unselect the option Block pop-up windows and close the Preference window

  3. Navigate to https://content.admin.ryerson.ca/webnow. When opening a PDF, the following window will appear. Single-click on the link Click here to view in your web browser and the PDF will launch in a new tab

Launch Internet Explorer and navigate to my.ryerson.ca and log in, select the Apps tab, then click on Content 7.

If you encounter a problem:

  1. Verify Browser Version - Click on Help in your browser menu located at the top of the screen. Click on Help and a drop-down menu will appear. Choose About Internet Explorer. A dialog box will appear containing the browser's version number. The supported browser version is Internet Explorer Version 11.
  2. Verify Java Version - Operating systems Windows 7 and Windows 10 supported.
    • Windows 7:
      1. Click Start
      2. Select Control Panel
      3. Select Programs
      4. Click Programs and Features
      5. The installed Java version(s) are listed
    • Windows 10:
      1. Click the Start button
      2. Scroll through the applications and programs listed until you see the Java folder
      3. Click on the Java folder, then About Java to see the Java version. The latest version for your system is recommended. The minimum is version 8 Update 151.
  3. Verify that the Java Plugin is working
    • Click on http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
    • Verify Java and Find Out-of-Date Versions will appear
    • Click on Agree and Continue
    • Click Programs and Features
    • A message will appear informing you if you have the recommended Java installed. If not, download and install the recommended Java version
  4. Try to connect to Content 7

  • Users are unable to rotate PDF documents.
    • Resolution: To rotate a PDF in the Content 7 viewer, right-click in the body of the document and select Rotate Clockwise. (Resolved - 201806)
  • Some users have reported that the application does not disconnect right away. After a delay, a message indicating "imagenow.exe is not responding" is displayed. (Note: ImageNow is the former name for Content 7).
    • This issue is being investigated
  • Some users may see a scrolling message "Cannot connect to the message queuing service. Contact your administrator."
    • Resolved 201802
