Grading Deadlines

New information on final, official grades for fall 2020!

New study day introduced:
New for fall 2020, Ryerson University has introduced a study day between the last day of classes and the first day of the fall examination period.

Final, official fall grades:
Final grades for fall courses will no longer be posted to RAMSS over the winter holidays and will be considered official on January 12, 2021. Unofficial grades  will be visible in RAMSS between January 7 and 11, 2021 as grades are being posted  or revised , and as the Registrar’s Office academic continuance processes are run. All grades and standings visible from January 7 through January 11, 2021 in RAMSS are subject to change and considered unofficial.

Undergraduate instructors must submit their grades no later than:

Wednesday, December 23, 2020 by 4 p.m.


Graduate Studies instructors must submit their grades no later than:

Thursday, January 7, 2021 by 12 p.m.


Exception:
Graduate Studies instructors for Communication & Culture must submit their grades no later than:

Friday, January 15, 2021 by 4 p.m.


Chang School instructors must submit their grades no later than:

Wednesday, December 23, 2020 by 4 p.m.

All Undergraduate instructors must submit their fall 2020 grades no later than:

Wednesday, December 23, 2020 by 4 p.m.



It is critical to meet this university deadline for Student Records to process and post grades, and calculate academic standings.

 


 

As part of normal policy, Program Directors, Deans, the University Registrar, and the Vice Provost Students are notified of grades that have not been submitted by the deadline. Grading information is needed to ensure the accurate assessment of students' academic standings. Academic continuance reviews are normally held the day after the grade submission deadline.

If you are aware of a problem in meeting this deadline, please notify facultysupport@ryerson.ca as soon as possible.

Instructors may contact Operations Support by email at facultysupport@ryerson.ca for grading assistance.


 

Confidentiality: Student grades are confidential and are protected by Ryerson’s Confidentiality Policy and the Privacy Legislation (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act). Please take this into consideration when handling documents containing grade information, accessing web pages with grade data and the like. If you have any questions about confidentiality of information, please contact facultysupport@ryerson.ca or view the privacy policy.

Release of Grades: Final grades are not to be released to students as there may be outstanding obligations to the university. Final grades are only released by the Registrar's Office via RAMSS.

Grade Policy and Grade Definitions: The purpose of University's Grading Policy is to ensure that the grading practices throughout the University reflect appropriate academic standards: that the evaluation of student performance is made in a fair and objective manner against these academic standards; and that grades are assigned fairly and equitably across campus. Grade definitions follow and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact facultysupport@ryerson.ca.
