New - Fall 2019! AwardSpring enables you to view and apply for all awards available at Ryerson in one convenient spot. Using your Ryerson email, simply log into the system at ryerson.awardspring.caNew window and create a single application to be considered for all awards for which you are eligible.

Note: AwardSpring is for Undergraduate and Continuing Studies students, as well as Graduate students who would like to be considered for university-wide awards for which they may be eligible to apply.

The Student Awards and Scholarships office aims to help Ryerson students and staff with the Scholarship and Awards application process.

We play a central role in the establishment, set-up, promotion, and application process for all current student awards and liaise with program departments regarding their awards applications, assessment, selection processes and for planning and executing a variety of awards events.

During the 2018/2019 school year, $34 million in awards were administered!

The Chin-Loy Chang Awards

Are you an Aboriginal, Caribbean or first generation student? Apply to receive $2,000 when you tell us how winning the award will help toward your future success at Ryerson. The Chin-Loy Chang Student Awards were established in 2018 as part of the Ryerson University President's Awards to Champion Excellence matching fund program. The awards below are available this fall.

Deadline to apply is October 15.

The Alterna Prize for Women Social Change Leaders

Are you a Social Change Leader? The Alterna Prize for Women Social Change Leaders is open to all women who are leading a civic, environmental or community initiative, project, campaign or social purpose enterprise.

The recipient will be awarded $2,500 to help make their idea a reality.
This award was created by Alterna Saving and Credit Union to support students, from across the University, who identify as female and who have demonstrated social change leadership at Ryerson or in their community.

Deadline to apply is October 15.

John Austin Leadership Award

This award was created to honour and recognize the dedicated service and leadership of John Austin - an accomplished Student Affairs executive and past interim vice-provost students.

Are you an active leader on campus or outside of the Ryerson community? Do you identify at LGTBQ+ or know someone who would be perfect for this award?
There are two recipients chosen who will receive $2,500!

Privacy and Use of Information
  • Ryerson University collects and uses your personal information to support decisions relating to scholarship, award, bursary eligibility and eligibility for government or other Ryerson University financial assistance programs. We may need to disclose your personal information to limited third parties in order to assist you with financial assistance. For example, we may need to disclose your personal information to government funding agencies to process financial assistance applications, financial institutions to confirm student enrolment and to independent student loan administration companies to process student loan documents. In addition, we may also share some information about award recipients with donors of our awards or may use limited information about you to promote good news in departmental brochures, newsletters or other forms of media. Other than as set out herein, we will not disclose your personal information unless we obtain your prior written consent or unless required by law.

The availability and monetary value of all awards, bursaries and scholarships are subject to change. The Student Awards and Scholarships Office reserves the right to change the listed award, scholarship or bursary information and/or value without notice. Ryerson's awards, scholarships and bursaries are not transferable to other postsecondary institutions.

Awards Subject to Cancellation: Students that withdraw, reduce their course load, alter their program of study, experience a decline in grades or no longer meet other scholarship eligibility/requirements may have to forfeit all or part of their award. The decision will be made by the Student Awards and Scholarships Office and will be based on the terms of the award, circumstances leading to the student becoming ineligible and educational costs incurred already. A cancelled award will be a charge against the student's University customer/fee account.

Please note: October 1, 2019 is the last day to request a review of your scholarship renewal if it has not yet been applied to your account. Any renewal requests received after October 1st will not be reviewed.
