The Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (OVPRI) has launched an internal funding program to support the Ryerson scholarly, research and creative (SRC) community investigating issues related to COVID-19.

Up to $50,000 is competitively available through the 2020 Ryerson COVID-19 SRC Response Fund to help seed innovative projects that will make a difference to the current crisis, its management or recovery.

OVPRI seeks strongly grounded, forward-thinking initiatives with the potential to translate into high-impact technological, policy or application advancements. Collaborative proposals are highly encouraged.

“Ryerson has launched this unique fund to support the SRC community and contribute to significant action on COVID-19 with bold, meaningful and impactful initiatives,” said Steven N. Liss, vice-president, research and innovation.

“With our commitment to SRC initiatives that serve societal needs and our diverse academic strengths, Ryerson researchers are well-placed to react quickly to this complex and urgent crisis.”

The Ryerson SRC community can apply to this new funding opportunity through the Research Information System (RIS).

The deadline to submit an application is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020.
