Molecular Science student Tu Tran has received the American Oil Chemist Society Honoured Student Award for 2013.
This award is for graduate students who demonstrate excellence in lipid chemistry research. Tran was one of only nine international recipients in 2013. He will present his work--on the crystallization of triglycerides under shear--at the next AOCS meeting in Montréal this spring.
Tran is working at Ryerson under the supervision of Derick Rousseau in the Department of Chemistry and Biology. He has already been part of several projects related to oil chemistry that have been published or presented at conferences--inlcuding one paper in the highly-regarded Langmuir journal.
The Faculty is very proud of his achievement.
