Science Rendezvous 2019

Science Rendezvous at Ryerson is a free and family-friendly street festival open to the public. Come out to the Ryerson University Quad (43 Gerrard St. E) on Saturday May 11 to take part in Canada’s national science celebration. You will experience a day filled with real science, innovation, hands-on activities and fun demonstrations straight from our researchers’ labs.
You can try using different research equipment, like ultrasound machines, play around with virtual reality, extract and decode DNA, and so much more! Ryerson faculty will show you the magic of infinity mirrors, how to use small parts and gadgets to build big circuits, how your eyes are tricked by optical illusions, and what science research tells us about environmental conservation. We are also excited to welcome many of our community partners, including the Science Discovery Zone, the Toronto Public Library, and the University Health Network, to name a few.
This year’s activities will celebrate STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math) - see how science is integrated into our lives in the most unsuspecting ways, how it impacts us on a daily basis, and how it drives innovation. This year we will also have multiple food trucks with ice cream, and other gluten-free and halal options. Get ready for a fun-filled day; we can't wait to see you there!
