Let's Talk Sports Symposia - Diversity in Sports

The Symposia will be a series of virtual events available for high school students each featuring a different theme related to sports and science. At each event, students will be able to hear from experts in different themes and engage in hands-on activities that explore different aspects of the themes.

Themes:

Diversity in Sport - Exploring diversity and inclusivity surrounding race, gender, sexuality, and bodies in sport. Our speakers will discuss how researchers study race in sports and how science can help optimize performance in female athletes. Participants will explore sports science professions through an escape room.

Data Analysis - Discussing sports analytics and different sports metrics. (Nov. 13)

Biomechanics - Investigating the physics involved in sports and how athletes movements can be optimized. Tuesday Nov. 9, 1:00 - 2:30 pm

Nutrition - Diving into the importance of eating for performance and recovery in sport. Friday Nov. 5 & Nov. 12, 9:30 - 11:00 am
