FEAS, FOS, TRSM and FOA students may submit academic grade and standing appeals through the on-line academic appeals portal at on-line appeals

For FCAD, FCS, Law, CE and Graduate Studies students:

All Department/Program/School level, Faculty level, and Senate level grade and standing appeal submissions must be scanned and emailed. 

Department level appeals must be emailed to your Department/School/Program Chair or Directors.

Faculty level appeals must be emailed to your Associate Dean. 

Senate level appeals must be submitted to senate@ryerson.ca

Chang School appeals must be emailed to the Chang School at distance@ryerson.ca

Policy 167:  Academic Consideration for Fall 2020 - due to Covid-19: "Students who miss an assessment due to cold or flu-like symptoms, or due to self-isolation, are currently not required to provide a health certificate". Appeals

Appeals can be filed for grade/standing, misconduct or non-academic conduct.

NEW  Faculty of Arts (FOA) along with Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM), Faculty of Science (FOS) and Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS)  must submit grade and standing appeals online.

Due to COVID-19, All other appeals must be filed with the appropriate program office via email using the correct forms.

Senate level appeals must be filed with the Senate Office located at JOR-1227, from 9am - 4:30pm.

Submission of your appeal is required within 10-working days of receiving the faculty-level decision letter (grade/standing appeals), the Academic Integrity decision letter (academic misconduct), or the decision letter from the Vice-Provost, Student (non-academic misconduct appeals). Program/Department Level Within 10 business days of receipt of a final Grade in a course. Undergraduate and Chang School students must submit their appeal to the Department Administrator in the office which offers the course.
Graduate Students must submit their appeal to their Program office.

Faculty Level Within 10 business days of receipt of a department level grade appeal decision. All students must file their grade or standing appeal to the Dean’s Office of the faculty that offers the course or program they are appealing.

Graduate Students in interdisciplinary programs should file standing appeals through YSGS.

Senate Level Within 10 business days of receipt of a Faculty level grade/standing appeal decision. Students must submit Grade and Standing appeals to the office of the Secretary of Senate in person.

Appeals must include all of the documents submitted at all previous levels, all decision letters, all evidence, and a letter to the Senate Appeals Committee that clearly outlines where the decision made by the Dean and Chair/Director are in dispute.

Misconduct 

Academic Misconduct appeals must be filed within 10 business days of the date of the finding of Academic misconduct or the Penalty for Academic misconduct Decision Letter

Non-Academic Conduct appeals must be filed within 10 business days of a decision from the Vice Provost, Students office

All students must file their appeal of the finding of Academic Misconduct or the Penalty assigned for Academic Misconduct to the Academic Integrity office (AIO)
