Academic Policy Review Committee (APRC)

The Academic Policy Review Committee (APRC) is a Sub-committee of the Academic Governance and Policy Committee (AGPC).  It was struck in Fall 2015 to review five academic policies:

  • Policy 134: Undergraduate Academic Consideration and Appeals;
  • Policy 135: Examination;
  • Policy 145: Undergraduate Course Management;
  • Policy 151: Course Management -Yeates School of Graduate Studies; and
  • Policy 152: Graduate Student Academic Appeals

and to make recommendations to AGPC, which may then make recommendations for policy revisions to Senate.

  • One (1) Co-chair
  • Six (6) Associate Deans (one for each Faculty)
  • One (1) Associate Dean, YSGS
  • One (1) Program Director, Chang School
  • President, RFA
  • Vice President Education,  (RSU)
  • Student Issues & Advocacy Coordinator (RSU)
  • Vice President Education, or Designate (CESAR)
  • Student Rights Coordinator (CESAR)
  • Secretary of Senate (non-Voting)
  • Senate Policy & Appeals Specialist (non-voting)

As of Fall 2020, the Academic Consideration Request (ACR) online system is active for all undergraduate, graduate, law and continuing education students who are requesting academic consideration for Extenuating Circumstances (absences of up to three (3) business days) that result in missed course work. 

Requests must be submitted in advance of the missed work (e.g. test, assignment deadline, lab, etc.).  When circumstances do not permit this, you must submit the request as soon as reasonably possible.
