OSAP Reviews

Not getting enough OSAP funding? You might be eligible for an OSAP review.* Have extenuating circumstances not covered by these reviews? Come see us. The Student Financial Assistance team is available to meet with you in private at the ServiceHub (located in POD150, next to The Hub Café). Remember to bring a piece of government issued ID when you come so we can access your file.     

*Note: OSAP reviews must be submitted 40 days before the end of your study period. Check out the Important Dates page for standard deadlines. Although we can review a number of items, there are a few situations that do not qualify for review, including:

  • If you've received maximum OSAP
  • Your parent(s) arbitrarily refuse to contribute to your education-related costs
  • Your citizenship status
  • Independence criteria
  • Deadline dates
  • Funding distribution

Not living with your parent(s)’ even though they live within 30km of Ryerson? Living with your parent(s) and paying room and board? Married, but not living with your spouse during the study period due to location? You might be eligible for an adjustment to your living allowance. Fail the credit check? Submit the Credit Check Review FormNew window to have the decision reviewed.

OSAP expects dependent students to provide parental information on their application. If parental information is unavailable because of a break in contact or estrangement, a Family Breakdown ReviewPDF can be considered. You must demonstrate that a serious and permanent breakdown of the family relationship has occurred.
