Education Under Attack, What Do We Do?

Date
October 28, 2019
Time
10:00 AM EDT - 11:45 AM EDT
Location
Thomas Lounge, 55 Gould Street

Doug Ford and the Provincial Government have made massive, far-reaching and unprecedented cuts to education without consultation with students, teachers or parents. Across the sector, from elementary to post-secondary, the government is cutting back on teachers, classrooms, student supports and progressive curriculums. This is the time for resistance. For Ryerson students, faculty, staff and community members, the cuts in education also have huge implications and cross-over with the cuts in public services.

This workshop will be an opportunity to discuss the cuts to education and other public sectors and to build goals, strategies and tactics to organize at Ryerson and in our communities. Participants will get to use various tools provided by the Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario Organizing Guide.  The Continuing Education Students’ Association of Ryerson (CESAR) will help ensure that discussions and plans can continue to be shaped throughout the year (helping to book space, run campaigns and help resource ideas).
