The Mentorship Program is a student-led volunteer program that connects new international students with current Ryerson students. Our mission is to provide international students with enriching Ryerson student experience, support their transition to new life in Ryerson and Canada.
How it works
New international students who sign up for the program are connected with an upper year Ryerson Student (these students are called mentor). A mentor does many things, from answering questions about Canadian life to inviting new students to interesting events organized by Ryerson Student Life for example, immigration workshop, Let’s talk series, Love without border events etc.
Benefits for Mentors and Mentees:
Provide transition support to new international students
Promote intercultural understanding and friendship between Ryerson students of culturally diverse backgrounds
Provide leadership and mentorship opportunities to Ryerson students
Foster a community of future leaders with broad global perspectives
Provide personal and professional development opportunities

Initial contact occurs via email, but students are encouraged to meet with their mentors in person upon arrival in Toronto. All students who are unfamiliar with Ryerson University, City of Toronto and the Canadian/North American lifestyle will greatly benefit from the program.
