The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), formerly known as the Provincial Nominee Program, is an immigration program through which the province of Ontario nominates individuals and their families for permanent resident status. The Government of Ontario established Opportunities Ontario to help employers succeed in the global competition for talent by attracting skilled and educated immigrants to the province.

Important notice

Ontario has already received the sufficient number of OINP applications to meet its 2016 federal allocation and will be placing a temporary pause on the intake of some high-volume streams that include the Master’s Graduate Stream and PhD Graduate Stream.  Ontario will continue to accept applications from International Student with a Job Offer applicants.  For more information, please visit the Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International trade website (
