Student Initiatives Fund
Funding for student groups and course unions:
In order to continue the important work of campus groups, funding has been made available for group use.
The university has created a process for campus groups and course unions, who were funded by the RSU, to apply for funding for the 2019/2020 academic year.
To submit a request, interested groups can find out more information, requirements, and the application form here: https://forms.gle/TfWfQW3nnox9BC1x6, external link.
The Student Initiatives Fund (SIF) is a grant-funding, standing committee that reports to the Student Services Advisory Committee. SIF is administered by the Department of Student Life on behalf of the Vice Provost Students, Ryerson University.
By appreciating the potential of Ryerson student initiatives and engaging in meaningful dialogue, this student-to-student model contributes to building the culture of Ryerson student life to reflect its diversity and creativity. The spirit of SIF is to provide seed funding to student led non-profit initiatives, enhance student programming with the priority and focus on new initiatives.
SIF awards funding for two main projects: (1) undergraduate and graduate student-led initiatives (2) undergraduate and graduate student-led lounge upgrades.
An individual or student group can submit a SIF application for one initiative per semester. New initiatives are eligible to receive up to $9,000 and established initiatives are eligible to receive up to $4,500!
Funding decisions are made by the committee depending on the merit of the proposal and its benefit to the Ryerson community.
