Bio: Andrew (Drew) Heinmiller earned his Master’s degree working on the neurobiology of drug addiction at the University of Toronto. At FUJIFILM VisualSonics, Inc., he has played a key role in application research and development for photoacoustic imaging since June 2010. He has worked with colleagues and academic collaborators on the development of real time oxygen saturation measurement, non-invasive visualization and quantification of preclinical stroke models, and photoacoustic contrast agent applications including reporter gene and other molecular imaging applications.  In his current role as Product Manager for VisualSonics’ photoacoustic line of products, he led the development and successful commercial launch of the company’s flagship Vevo LAZR-X imaging system in 2017.  Through his interactions with customers and collaborators from academics to clinicians, he continues to use insights from the field to inform product innovation in order to solve problems in the preclinical and clinical research market.
