Diversity Institute’s Dr. Wendy Cukier wins a CATA Innovation Leadership Award

Congratulations to Dr. Wendy Cukier for winning a Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA) Innovation Leadership Award, one of the most prestigious annual awards given to individuals and corporations by Canada’s advanced technology community. 

Dr. Cukier, Director and Founder of TRSM’s Diversity Institute, is the recipient of CATA’s 2019 Sara Kirke Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This award is presented to a woman who has shown outstanding entrepreneurship and technological innovation or corporate leadership that has significantly expanded the frontiers of Canada’s advanced technology industry. Its purpose is to celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship and create positive role models for women.

“Dr. Wendy Cukier is a change-maker, a social innovator and a thought leader,” stated Fawn Annan, President and Group Publisher of IT World Canada/IDG Canada and CATA’s 2017 Sara Kirke Award recipient, in Cukier’s nomination. “She is constantly working to level the playing field for women, racialized minorities, Indigenous peoples, and those with disabilities.”

As one of Canada's leading experts in disruptive technologies, innovation processes and diversity, Dr. Cukier has built large networks that bring together employers, community organizations and public sector organizations to advance innovation and inclusion across all sectors for all Canadians.

The Sara Kirke Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation was presented to Dr. Cukier at the 34th Annual CATAAlliance Innovation and Leadership Awards Gala in Ottawa on May 15, 2019.
