Consent Comes First Ryerson (Office of Sexual Violence Support and Education)

Consent Comes First provides support to Ryerson community members affected by sexual violence, whether it happened on or off campus, or if you experienced sexual violence before you came to Ryerson.

Ryerson Student Affairs initiative providing training and resources to teach skills associated with resilience, wellbeing and thriving academically and personally. It connects academic success and a healthy lifestyle. Workbook, training, tips and resources available.


A central resource providing students access to mental health and wellness information and supports. The information and tools available have been developed to assist students in increasing and/or sustaining optimal health, so they can maintain a productive and positive lifestyle while completing their studies.

Peer Supports

SMASH (Students for Mental Awareness, Support, & Health)

A mental health and wellness student group that is created by students, for students working towards increasing awareness and support for mental health and wellness at Ryerson University. SMASH creates and hosts a variety of health and wellness events on campus.

SHARP (Students Health Assistance and Resilience Program)

A peer to peer program developed within RU Health Promotion that helps students develop lifelong skills for managing their health and well-being.


RSU Wellness Centre

The Wellness Centre is a centralized space on campus for Ryerson students to have access to a variety of resources and programs on campus which focus on their mental wellbeing and overall wellness.

Immediate emotional support, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention over the phone. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Gerstein Crisis Centre

A 24/7 free and confidential community based crisis service for adults 16+ in Toronto, who are dealing with a serious mental health issue, concurrent or substance use issue. Work with people at all stages of their recovery, giving support through their crisis and connecting them with services and supports in the community.


Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)

CAMH is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world's leading research centres in its field. CAMH provides research, education and leading social change related to mental health.
