Centre for Free Expression

The Centre for Free Expression at Ryerson University focuses on issues related to freedom of expression and the public’s right to know. This includes campus free expression, academic freedom, hate speech, censorship, disinformation, access-to-information, whistleblower protection, anti-SLAPP legislation, corporate and government surveillance, and freedom of the press.

The Centre sponsors public educational events, does research, provides advice and engages in advocacy on these issues. Our work is undertaken in collaboration with academic and community-based organizations across Canada and internationally. For more information, contact:
