Imagine the difference: How you can support the United Way Greater Toronto

A message from the co-chairs:

Poverty is everyone’s problem
A community is only as strong as the sum of its parts. Too many people in the Peel, Toronto and York regions are battling poverty, and finding it difficult to access the essential services and supports they need to succeed.

While some of us may feel removed from the challenges of living below the poverty line, it’s a social and economic issue that affects everyone in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area (GTHA): when people can’t access basic resources to help them live healthy lives, we all fall behind.

Fortunately, we’re in a position to empower those who need our assistance. By supporting the United Way, you can make a meaningful, prosperous life possible for those around you.

Help change someone’s life
As co-chairs of this year’s United Way campaign at Ryerson University, we’re proud to share that there are a number of things you can do to improve someone’s life. Explore this site to learn more about how you can volunteer your time as an Ambassador, make a donation to the United Way agency of your choice or get involved in other purposeful ways.

Whether you’re familiar with the organization or just learning about their work, we have a place for you. We encourage you to have fun transforming the community with people who share your passions and interests while feeling good about driving change.

Why we like the United Way
There are many wonderful organizations in the GTHA that are committed to tackling critical social and economic challenges, but the United Way is Ryerson University’s longtime charity of choice. Like them, we believe that everyone deserves a fair chance at a good life – their support systems fight poverty in all its forms, and create opportunities for people from all walks of life.

Just as we work to give every member of the Ryerson community the chance to thrive, we want to ensure that the people around us can build bright futures too. If we each do our part, everyone reaps the benefits of a healthy, vibrant and prosperous society.

We hope that you’ll join us in making a positive impact again this year.
