Important notice: Events and space bookings cancelled or postponed at Ryerson until May 1

March 13, 2020

To: Individuals who have booked an event or reserved space at Ryerson University

We are writing to you because you have booked a space or event at Ryerson University.

Today, Ryerson provided an update regarding the university’s response to the risk of COVID-19 (formerly novel coronavirus) to our community. As the situation within Toronto and Ontario evolves, we are working with university leaders and public health officials to coordinate our response.

While the university remains open at this time, Ryerson has made the decision to move in-person classes to virtual instruction and cancel or postpone discretionary events on and off-campus. To support this measure, effective today, March 13, 2020 all internal and external space bookings and events reserved or coordinated through Event & Space Reservations Services are cancelled or postponed until at least May 1, 2020

Next steps

We understand that this decision may be disappointing for you. This decision was not made lightly and has been done in the interest of the health and safety of our students, staff and guests. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.

Ryerson remains committed to assisting with the organization and execution of your event or space reservation on campus. Once the university returns to normal operating procedures, we will begin to find space on campus for affected groups and events based on priority.
