Partnership

Zone Learning

The partnership between Ryerson University and St. Michael’s Hospital is the first of its kind. The collaboration allows clinicians at St. Michael’s Hospital the unique opportunity to engage with startups on the innovative health tech scene and contribute directly to Canadian innovation. It also allows them the ability to access Ryerson’s extensive network of innovators, students, and resources. Ryerson University benefits through the creation of numerous meaningful engagement opportunities for students to work in collaborative healthcare projects and allows the University to continue its mission in establishing the foremost innovative ecosystem and institution in the world.

Zone Learning is a new model of experiential learning built to prepare students for the 21st-century workplace. Offered only at Ryerson University, it lets students apply their degree coursework to the development of startups, causes, companies, projects or ventures. Through the Zone Learning model, the Biomedical Zone is one of 10 zones, each with a distinct focus that provide opportunities to shape initiatives from the ground up and gain experience that prepares you for the real world.
