HealthBound

#HealthBound2020

Our most recent HealthBound was the biggest one to date. With the support of Shoppers Drug Mart, we put out a call to find Canada's most innovative startups in the Mental Health and Addiction space. Five finalists pitched their solutions on collision day and winning companies LinkMentalHealth and ManagingLife took home the grand prizes of $35,000 and $15,000 respectively. 

HealthBound 2017

The Biomedical Zone worked with 4 hospitals, each focusing on a ubiquitous healthcare challenge, such as hand hygiene and transition to community-based care. Companies that were selected from Collision Day worked with the Biomedical Zone and hospital partners for 4 months on refining their solution for their selected challenge, and presented their solutions on Demo Day. The winning company, LifeShield Health, created an antimicrobial screen protector for medical devices in order to reduce healthcare associated infections.

HealthBound 2018

This Healthbound focused on addressing the issue of overall patient experience at St. Michael’s Hospital (including experiences with clinic wait-times and registration). After Collision Day, three companies spent 7 weeks in a rapid development phase engaging with St. Michael’s IT department, Project Management Office, Diabetes Clinic Staff, and Patient Advisors. The winning company, Verto Inc., presented their MindMerge platform to address the various issues surrounding patient experience at St. Michael’s Hospital.
