Join Us!

We currently have openings for enthusiastic new members to join our group. Prospective students who have strong backgrounds in mechanical, chemical, or biomedical enginering, or physics, are all welcome to apply.

We are especially looking for highly motivated PhD and MASc students, who are interested in experimental microfluidics, to begin their research in Fall 2020.

PhD and MASc students

All of LoFFI's MASc and PhD students are fully funded. Students with at least an A- average in their two most recent years of study may qualify for a Ryerson University entrance scholarship. Teaching and grading assistantships are also available as additional support.

Prospective students should email their CV and transcripts in pdf format to Dr. Tsai at Students should also apply for admissions through Ryerson University's Yeates School of Graduate Studies. Students can apply to either the biomedical or mechanical engineering graduate programs.

Canadian citizens and permanent residents seeking external funding are encouraged to contact Dr. Tsai to discuss application proposals for the NSERC Postgraduate and Ontario Graduate scholarship programs.

Undergraduate students

We also welcome undergraduate students to email Dr. Tsai to discuss possible undergraduate research projects at the LoFFI. Specifically, Ryerson University's undergraduates seeking summer research experience should contact Dr. Tsai and apply for NSERC USRA and Ryerson RA awards.
