artifact: tron Film, 1982, directed by Steven Lisberger,
written by Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird Tron is a Disney-produced sci-fi film
that deals with a villainous computer program, “Master Control,” who tries to
dominate and kill “digitized” humans subjects through its computer games. Wikipedia uses the concept “simulated reality” when referring to Tron and
explains that “Simulated reality is
the proposition that reality could be simulated—often computer simulated—to a
degree indistinguishable from 'true' reality. It could contain conscious minds which may or may not know that they are living
inside a simulation. In its strongest form, the "simulation
hypothesis" claims we actually are living in such a simulation.” Other
films associated with simulated reality include The Truman Show (1998), The
Matrix Trilogy (1999, 2003, 2003), and Vanilla Sky (2001). |
