List filtering by tags

Most list and grid components have an option to filter and display content based on tags

Users can filter list results using "Autocategorized Tags" or "Categorized Tags".

How to use:

1) Create a page with one of the following: News List, Event List, Page List, or Biography List

2) Edit the list/grid component

3) Select the "Content Configuration" tab, and enter a path

4) Select the "Display" tab, and select "Enable Filtering By Tags" (near the bottom)

5) Choose one of three filter types:

  • All tags (Uncategorized) - Current Default
  • Autocategorized Tags
  • Categorized Tags

 Things to know when tag filtering is enabled:

  • Pages displayed in lists must have tags in order for filtering to work.
  • Pagination is ignored when sorting by tags is enabled.
Limit, offset and results per page are disabled when tags are enabled.

Categorized Tags: Create custom tag categories or groups, and manually enter tags into these categories.

Dynamically filter the list results using one or more of the tags.

Autocategorized Tags creates an automatically-generated set of tags based on the list results, and allows users to dynamically filter the list results using one or more of these tags.

Pagination will be ignored.

Filter Configuration Address Bar Auto-save

When "Tag Display" is set to either "Autocategorized Tags" or "Categorized Tags" any selected filters are automatically saved in the URL address. If this address is then visited then the selected filters will be automatically applied. Multiple filter categories and list components on a page are supported.

This allows you to generate/link to addresses which will automatically apply pre-configured filters to News Lists, Event Lists, Page Lists, or Biography Lists on a page.

Note: a new URL address containing filter configuration may need to be generated if the order of list components and/or filter categories on a page are changed.
