Faculty of Communication & Design

The School of Graphic Communications Management offers Canada’s only degree-granting program for the printing industries – an industry that is Canada’s fourth largest manufacturing employer.   The School’s 4-year degree offers opportunities in all areas of digital imaging and print production leading to a management career in this dynamic and rapidly growing field.

Throughout the program, students network with potential employers and gain practical experience in the industry through formal internships or part-time work. They also work alongside dedicated and knowledgeable faculty members in a state-of-the art facility equipped with industry leading equipment.

Small lab class sizes offer practical, hands-on exposure on what to expect within the industry and also allow students to work on projects from concept to completion. As they prepare for their careers, students may study technical, business and liberal arts courses in addition to a variety of minors in diverse disciplines.

Graduates from the program are increasingly involved in research and competitive opportunities worldwide and enjoy outstanding career prospects. In fact, many students receive multiple job offers before they even graduate.

Among the School’s successful graduates are Dan Thompson (owner, DT Print Solutions), Dian Al-Malluk (Manager and Editor of Al Watan Daily newspaper, Kuwait), Alison Clarke (Account Manager, Metro Label), R. Lee Jones and Trung Nguyen (Packaging Graphics Specialists, Maple Leaf Foods), and Andrew Dunkerly (Manager of Signage, The Bay/Zellers).
