I am pleased to announce the appointment of John Paul Foxe as director of the Academic Integrity Office (AIO), effective August 1, 2016. John Paul has been a valued member of the Learning and Teaching Office (LTO) since 2010, first joining as an educational developer, and most recently overseeing day-to-day operations of the office as manager since 2015.

As director of the AIO, John Paul will lead the development and implementation of strategic plans, programs and initiatives to support the university’s goal of developing and fostering a culture of academic integrity at Ryerson, in accordance with Senate  (PDF file) Policy 60 and the academic plan. He brings a wealth of experience and skills to the director’s position, and the strong relationships he has developed at Ryerson will be an asset in his new role.

I would like to thank Giselle Basanta for her work as director of the AIO since May 2013. Giselle was recently appointed legal counsel, Office of the General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Governors. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Robyn Jacobson, who has served as acting director of the AIO since September 2015.

Please join me in congratulating John Paul Foxe on his new position.

Chris Evans
Interim Provost and Vice President Academic
