R.A.D

Rape Aggression Defence for Women

A basic self defence course for women is offered to the Ryerson community by our own security team. Rape Aggression defense or R.A.D. System of personal safety education involves a practical blend of threat avoidance strategies and real world assault resistance tactics for women.The focus of the R.A.D. Course is on the development of easily mastered personal safety skills. They are safely practiced within a comfortable learning environment and the coupling of those physical skills with a threat assessment process will increase personal safety awareness.Over a period of 12 to15 hours, participants will learn threat assessment techniques and personal safety awareness. Participants will also learn physical self defence drills and participate in realistic simulations.The R.A.D course is open to all women for FREE.

 

R.A.D for Men

Resisting Aggression with Defence for MenThe R.A.D for Men course is open to all men for FREE. If you want to learn techniques on how to defuse a situation or defend yourself in a confrontation, this course is for you. The Program is geared to men therefore is different from our women's and children's program.
