CCS Scheduled Maintenance and Outages

Preventative Maintenance includes a variety of activities necessary to keep information and technology services running, such as software patches, fixes and upgrades, hardware upgrade. Additional outages may occur as a result of unforeseen hardware or software issues. In these cases, CCS strives to provide as much notice as possible.

No alternate service will be available if a system or an application is not available due to the scheduled maintenance or outage, unless explicitly indicated in the table bellow for the particular system/application.

Disable SSLv3 protocol on dsp1/2/3. Any application which connects to ldap, including RMS and CAS may experience intermittent access issues during this time.

Apply a patch to RMS release 4.5.2. Major features include improving compromised account auditing and notification messages, optimizing the performance of suspicious activity searches, enabling HTML mass mail for Student News and removing SSLv3. Access to RMS Administration , Account Activation and Self Serve and will be intermittent during this time frame.

Additional Scheduled Changes

  • Fridays, starting August 15, 2014 between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. until completion - in progress
    Move the load balanced applications to a new application firewall. This change will continue every Friday till completion. No outage expected.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
    Switch Local file system to SAN Storage on mfe2.prodint.ryerson.ca. There might be some minor interruption of users' existing connection to mfe2 at around 7 a.m.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 6:30 a.m. and 6:40 a.m.
    Disable SSLv3 on Apache web server on aiweb.prodint.ryerson.ca. Access to Kahoots and Personality Temperament Indicator may be intermittent during this time.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 7:50 a.m. and 8 a.m.
    Disable SSLv3 on blog.ryerson.ca. Wordpress users may experience intermittent access issues during this time frame.
  • Thursday, October 30, 2014 between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
    Upgrade one of the Internet routers. Some Internet traffic may experience one minute outage during this time.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
    Upgrade one of network load balancers. No outage is expected.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
    uPortal access will be limited to TLS 1.0 and above encryption.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 5 a.m. and 5:15 a.m.
    Disable SSLV3 on CFPROD1.prodint. All Cold Fusion applications will not be available  during this time frame.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
    Disable SSLV3 on webjira1.prodint.ryerson.ca  and webconf1.prodint.ryerson.ca. Access to Jira and Confluence will be intermittent during this time frame.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
    Upgrade one of the Internet routers. Some Internet traffic may experience one minute outage during this time.
  • Friday, October 31, 2014 between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
    Install a new digital certificate for RAMSS and Nolij.

 

Future/Pending Changes

  • Friday, November 7, 2014 at midnight until Wednesday, November 12 at 8 a.m.
    RAMSS system maintenance. RAMSS will not be available during this time frame.
