CCS Scheduled Maintenance and Outages

Preventative Maintenance includes a variety of activities necessary to keep information and technology services running, such as software patches, fixes and upgrades, hardware upgrade. Additional outages may occur as a result of unforeseen hardware or software issues. In these cases, CCS strives to provide as much notice as possible.

No alternate service will be available if a system or an application is not available due to the scheduled maintenance or outage, unless explicitly indicated in the table bellow for the particular system/application.

Relocate ms1.prodint.ryerson.ca to new chassis. Some Rmail users you will not be able to login to RMail. However, all incoming emails will be queued and delivered to their inbox once the change is completed.

Release RMS 5.4.2 which includes the following features: deprovision RAMSS administrative users, provide D2L shell enrollment query web service for Library, allow previously opted-out RMail users to opt into Gmail through Self Service and update automated emails to be sent to the contact of generic accounts with an expired password upon CAS login.

VRF1 (admin), VRF2 (acad), VRF3 (departmental feeds) point-to-point connections will be moved from public IP space to private IPs. The change will be performed on all VRF enabled core/distribution/edge Avaya 8800s. No outage is expected.
Weekdays starting on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. - in progress
Network switches and switch stacks will be upgraded on a continual basis throughout the Ryerson Campus.  Areas affected will be notified of outages in advance of commencement of work.

Apply Dell firmware updates and update ESX drivers in VC-DC2 VMware environment.
Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Clockworks web release will be updated from 5.14.7.15 to 5.14.7.28. Clockworks will not be available during this time frame.
Friday, May 27 2016, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
WordPress upgrade to 4.5.2 on blog.ryerson.ca. A system outage is not required during this time, but each blog may experience a brief outage.
Friday, May 27, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The following Pentaho VM Windows Client machines will be decommissioned: 10.123.12.10, 10.123.12.11, 10.123.12.12, 10.123.12.13, 10.123.12.14, 10.123.12.15, 10.123.12.16.
Users will not be able to use the above listed Pentaho VM Client machines. Going forward, the 64 bit VM Client machines will be used instead.
Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 6 p.m. to midnight
Move OGF production servers to a new FalconStor Cluster. OGF will not be available during this time frame.
Monday, May 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. to noon
Create a separate instance ocucprod on oracollab.prodint.ryerson.ca and install the EM server for administration purpose. 

 

Future/Pending Changes

  • Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Blackboard Transact upgrade from version 3.10.3 to 3.12.8. Blackboard Transact will not be available during this time frame. Food service areas will operate off-line while the upgrade is taking place. Printing in the CCS managed labs through the Papercut application.
