CCS Scheduled Maintenance and Outages

Preventative Maintenance includes a variety of activities necessary to keep information and technology services running, such as software patches, fixes and upgrades, hardware upgrade. Additional outages may occur as a result of unforeseen hardware or software issues. In these cases, CCS strives to provide as much notice as possible.

No alternate service will be available if a system or an application is not available due to the scheduled maintenance or outage, unless explicitly indicated in the table bellow for the particular system/application.

Additional Scheduled Changes

  • Fridays, starting August 15, 2014 between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. until completion - in progress
    Move the load balanced applications to a new application firewall. This change will continue every Friday till completion. No outage expected.
  • Thursday, January 29, 2015 between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
    Update URL redirect settings for all websites hosted on CFPROD1.prodint. No user impact is expected during this time frame.
  • Friday, January 30, 2015 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
    Change network from public to private IPs in Arts, Student Residence, HR and Finance buildings.
  • Friday, January 30, 2015 from 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
    Callpilot upgrade. Voice mail and VOIP phones will be unavailable during this time frame.
  • Friday, January 30, 2015 from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
    ​Respondus LockDown browser building block will be upgraded from version 3.0.9 to version 3.3.3. Blackboard will be restarted in order for change to take effect and will not be available during this time frame.
  • Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
    Upgrade oracollab.prodint.ryerson.ca database to 11.2.0.4 & apply PSU-OCT2014 Security Patchset. All applications hosted on cf.ryerson.ca and ru.ryerson.ca will not be available during this time frame.
  • Sunday, February 1, 2015 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
    - Change RScan to route mail to smpt.ryerson.ca
    - Add mpstst & mirtst to the load balancer to serve IMAP/POP and SMTP respectively
  • Monday, February 2, 2015 between 00:01 a.m. and 6 a.m.
    D2L system maintenance. D2L Pilot users will not be able to access D2L.
  • Starting Monday, February 2, 2015 until Monday, February 16, 2015
    Upgrade ESX Servers in DC2 from v5.1 to 5.5. No user impact is expected due to VMware clustering.

 

Future/Pending Changes

  • February 6, 2015 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m
    my.ryerson redesign. my.ryerson and all applications accessed through my.ryerson will not be available during this time frame.
  • Friday, February, 6 2015, between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
    WordPress (blog.ryerson.ca) upgrade to version 4.1 on. Each blog may experience a brief outage during this timeframe.
  • February 14, 2015 to February 17, 2015
    RMail system upgrade. RMail web will not be available during this time frame. RMail client will still be available during this time frame.
