Dr. W P Neumann [Principal Investigator]

Dr. Neumann works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Ryerson University. His research focuses on the design of work systems that are effective and sustainable from both human and technical perspectives.

Michael Greig [MASc Student]

Michael is a first year graduate student in Industrial Engineering. His industry partnered research focuses on the process of integrating human factors into production systems and the development of relevant feedback and tracking metrics.

Aileen J Lim  [MASc Student]

Aileen worked in the HFE Lab as an undergraduate student and supported the development of the inventory of ergonomic tools. She is currently completing her final year as an MASc student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Her industry-partnered research focuses on the use of process mapping as a tool for stimulating organizational change towards proactive ergonomics.

Jorge Perez  [MEng Student]

Jorge's graduate studies involves research on workplace simulation and virtual human factors.

Mauro Sammarco  [Visiting Researcher]

Mauro is a PhD student at the University of Salerno. He is�investigating the effects of dynamic worker behavior on assembly lines, using an agent-based approach.

Ahmad Sobhani [PhD student]

Ahmad is currently a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Ahmad’s research areas and work experience include Process modelling, Performance assessment, Evaluating systems with uncertainties, Ergonomics applications, Dynamic programming, Cost-benefit analysis, Business process reengineering(BPR), Customer relationship Management(CRM), SCM, E-business strategies, E-Marketing, IT and Optimization.

Avninder Buttar

Avninder is a recent Industrial Engineering graduate whose projects at the HFE Lab ranged from the development of ergonomic and simulation tools to research involving the link between HF principles and corporate strategy.

Thiago is an Aerospace Engineering student, who investigated simulation in work system design.

Nazanin Khavarian  [Undergraduate Student]

Nazanin is a 3rd-year Industrial Engineering student, with a BSc in Applied Mathematics. She is currently assisting with an 'Inventory of Tools for Ergonomic Evaluation'.

Megan Mekitiak  [MASc Student]

Megan graduated from Industrial Engineering and is working toward her Masters of Applied Science, studying the integration of human factors and workplace design.

Tizneem Nagdee.

Tizneem Nagdee  [Researcher]

Tizneem works as a researcher investigating the integration of human factors within engineering design. Her background includes a degree in mechanical engineering and in cognitive science as well as considerable experience working as a writer/editor.

Ebrahim Poulad.

Ebrahim Poulad

Ebrahim graduated from Shiraz University (Iran) in Materials Science Engineering, a discipline in which he has both taught and published. He has since shifted focus toward Industrial Enginereering and conducted research in the area of ergonomics and simulation.

Dr. Linda Rose  [Visiting Researcher]

Linda works as a senior lecturer in Ergonomics at KTH (The Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm. She holds an MSc in aeronautical engineering and a PhD in injury prevention. As an engineer, she has been working to develop tools and methods to improve ergonomics and reduce injuries, often in the construction industry, as well as performing ergonomic analyses of industrial projects.

David Scrivens 

As a 4th-year student, David worked with the HFE Lab on the 'vision arm' project as well as the inventory of ergonomic tools.
