Student Awards

We strongly encourage students to apply for the Midwifery Education Program (MEP) Awards in addition to other awards available through the Faculty of Community Services and Ryerson University.

Information on upcoming awards and deadlines is emailed directly to all students in the Midwifery Education Program. It is important to check these emails as well as the Award Descriptions (listed below) or the Awards at a Glance [PDF] chart for eligibility criteria and requirements. Please note that the MEP List of Awards booklet published in November 2010 is now obsolete.

Some important information to note when applying:

Supporting Documents

In addition to your cover letter, many awards require a completed budget form, letters of recommendation, reflective essay and other supporting documents. All applications which are complete and received by the deadline will be reviewed by our Awards Adjudication Committee. This committee is primarily composed of MEP faculty members in rotation, but some Award Committees also include other members such as the donor(s) and/or family members.

Financial Eligibility

Financial Eligibility is a requirement of most – but not all - of our awards. This is due to requirements of the matched funding arrangements whereby donor funds are matched by the Ontario government to increase the value of the endowment. Read more information on financial eligibility and Tips on Completing the MEP Budget Form [PDF].

If you are applying for more than one award, you must submit a separate cover letter for each award. The cover letter should include your name, contact information and the name of the award for which you are submitting the application.

All complete applications should be submitted to The Awards Committee via the Program Assistant, Julie Cabanatan, at the Midwifery Education Program office by email: jcabanat@ryerson.ca.

Submit Your Documents

All documents should be submitted to The Awards Committee via the Program Assistant, Julie Cabanatan, at the Midwifery Education Program office by email: jcabanat@ryerson.ca.

Late award submissions cannot be accepted.
