October 2 - 6, 2017 marks the 10th annual Retail Week at Ryerson University'sTed Rogers School of Retail Management where we connect students and industry representatives through networking events, student competitions, workshops, and panel discussions on trends in the world of retail  

This year we are excited to be partnering with the University of Alberta's School of Retailing and the Sobey Centre for Innovation in Retailing at St. Mary's University to promote external,Retail Week activities and greater awareness about the exciting careers in retailing across the country.

Day 1: Mon Oct 2

We start the week looking at the changing world of retail real estate with external,Dr. Tony Hernandez and Fab Stanghieri, SVP at Cineplex followed by the first external,CREA Charrette inter-school competition before wrapping the day with a workshop on how to code for your own website.  

Day 2: Tue Oct 3

Day 2 features a special session as we welcome Amazon Canada to share with students the story about Innovation at the e-commerce giant.  We'll cap the day with final presentations by teams participating in the first annual external,CREA Charrette.
 

Day 3: Wed Oct 4

At the mid-point of Retail Week, renowned speaker Ivan Wanis Ruiz will lead students in a workshop about telling their story in job interviews or presentations.  The afternoon begins with a discussion on Ethical Leadership for retailers with external,Dr. Chris MacDonald and wraps up with Speed Networking where students and employers meet in short rotating sessions.

Day 4: Thu Oct 5

Start the day off right with a panel on Beauty, Wellness & Sustainability welcoming speakers from both external,Well.ca and external,Greenhouse Juice. Next we'll visit the external,TJX Canada head office to learn about off-price retail before returning to our Retail Alumni Association panel night on digital trends with speakers from Indigo, Walmart, and Lowes Canada.

Day 5: Fri Oct 6

To close out the week, we're excited to welcome an expert from the digital team at Adidas Canada to present how they connect with Gen Z on Instagram.  Join us to hear some social media tips from one of your favourite brands!

Soul Cycle Pop-up

We're excited to welcome external,Soul-Cycle to Retail Week at TRSM.  Check out their bike demo with a fitness instructor on the 8th Floor (Wed Oct 4) as the first event in our @TRSMRetail external,#PopUpPilot space!  

Retail Week at TRSM is sponsored by the Ted Rogers School of Retail Management (TRSRM) and is part of external,National Retail Week events with the School of Retailing at the University of Alberta and the David Sobey Centre for Innovation in Retailing and Services at St. Mary's University.

Student Competition

As the first external,Canadian Retail Education Association Charrette, this intensive, interdisciplinary team learning experience will challenge students with a complex retail problem related to the external,Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area.  Students from multiple schools will work in teams to present their ideas over a 2-day event.
