 Additional requirements for all applicants

In addition to the general admission requirements for all applicants listed above, there are additional requirements for Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) graduates and non-TMU graduates.

Additional requirement for TMU graduates:

  • Completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree from Toronto Metropolitan University. If you completed your degree outside of the Accounting major at Ted Rogers School of Management, you will need to ensure that you have completed the requisite course work for entry into the Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario Professional Education Program (PEP).

You can find a list of Accounting courses offered at the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Chang school that fulfill the Accounting prerequisite courses at Accounting Certificate Series (opens in new window) .

In addition to the general admission requirements for all applicants listed above, external applicants also need these requirements:

  • Completion of a 4-year bachelor's degree from a recognized institution, and completion of requisite course work for entry into the Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario Professional Education Program (PEP).

All external applicants, who completed a non-accounting degree in Canada, must have completed all their degree and certificate requirements at the point of application. The degree and certificate transcripts must be attached to their application, and include the following:

  • Transcript of their non-accounting degree
  • Transcript of the prerequisite accounting courses they completed to be eligible for the CPA PEP
  • CPA assessment of their degree and prerequisite courses

Degree and certificate transcripts

All external applicants, who completed their accounting or non-accounting degree abroad, must have completed all their degree and certificate requirements at the point of application. The degree and certificate transcripts must be attached to their application, and include the following:

  • Transcript of their international degree
  • Transcript of the prerequisite accounting courses they completed to be eligible for the CPA PEP
  • Course-by-course credential evaluation completed by World Education Services (WES) through their International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP)
  • CPA assessment of their degree and prerequisite courses they completed.

If you have an assessment from CPA Ontario or your specific province, or a WES Assessment, you will need to submit this with your unofficial transcript. All applicants should declare all institutions they have completed courses at in the OUAC application portal under the academic background section. This will ensure that a section is provided for you to upload your supporting documents.

Language proficiency

Any external applicants who did not complete their undergraduate studies in English are required to submit an English language proficiency test score with their application. Visit the Graduate Admissions office website (opens in new window)  for more details.

The Professional Master’s Diploma in Accounting is closed to international applicants (study permit, student visa, or currently residing outside of Canada and not a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
