Black Birthing and Health Equity

This course will explore Black maternal health and increase students' knowledge of anti-Black racism as a social determinant of health. Students will analyze the historical, colonial, and slavery effects on Black childbearing families. Through highly interactive, participatory, and discussion-based teaching, students will examine implicit bias, engage in self-reflection, and learn how to facilitate cultural safety.
