This course provides students with the opportunity to pursue seminar studies related to motherhood throughout the African diaspora. Issues and themes of significance to their future service delivery among immigrant families or international collaborations will be explored. Transglobal seminars, field trips and group work will facilitate learners' appreciation and acquisition of advocacy, cultural safety, interprofessional, collaborative and professionalism competencies. Concepts such as intersecting identity, health systems and egalitarian partnerships will be examined and applied. Previous studies in a Community Services or Social Sciences strongly recommended.
