PHL 102

What is Philosophy?

What is philosophy and why does it matter? This course is an introduction to philosophy as a drive to understand and think critically about the world and our place within it, respond to challenging questions, and solve theoretical problems. Through a sustained dialogue with texts from diverse philosophical traditions, students will learn philosophy by doing it: that is, by engaging with their peers in the practices and methods of philosophical inquiry.
