Fundamentals of Ethics

This course explores fundamental questions about ethics. Possible questions include: Is ethics somehow relative to cultures or individuals? Or might some ethical truths be timelessly true, regardless of people's beliefs? Is ethics based on religious or spiritual truths? Must we do what's right even if we don't want to? Can it ever be rational to act unethically? Is ethics a product of evolution, and if so, should this undermine our commitment to ethics?
