Brownfields and Sustainable Redevelopment

The remediation and reuse of potentially contaminated brownfields is vital to urban sustainability. This course reviews the theory and practice of brownfields redevelopment focusing on key issues related to history, regulation, liability, site assessment/cleanup, project planning, development, and funding. The course aims to provide students with a foundation to pursue a brownfields career with government or the property development industry.
